Gotta say I disagree with you on that, I've always thought good quality clobber is worth the money.
Just for why is that I'm facing a new wardrobe after eleven+ years service from the last (I tend to do things periodically) when I had a half dozen suits made up and some good shoes. As for the suits they hang better than anything off the peg to this day and I'll get a couple more years out of them yet (the cut and full canvassing mean that you save money on the price per wear basis as well as being continuously better turned out). Its really win, win, win (especially if you like to support skilled local crafts &c.)
Personally I like wearing the same clothes for years- my shoes probably have seen thousands of miles and get more comfortable with every step (I like having a cobbler too- even if he's only seen two pairs from a rotation of three over a decade:eek:). Similarly shirts just get better until they turn into mufti (I rotate shirts and treat them well so easily get 3+ years until the collars/cuffs fray past the 'would you be happy to meet the Queen in that?' point- fortunately thats when I luv 'em the most!)
I suppose its diffrent strokes/ diffrent folkes, but I really don't get the whole sweatshop/ single use/ el cheapo clothes, nor the crassness of expensive branded clothes with a only slightly longer life. Not a value judgement, but really don't see any worth in doing it this way. /2p

If this ipod killer was coming out of MS central (software dev, etc) i wouldn't be concerned. However the team that is working on it (xbox) actually are decently creative.
Still they need to start actually making money one of these days. Subsidizing new versions for ppls itms libraries it would cost them roughly $1B... They can't sell their player for a premium (if they could they wouldn't need to subsidize song, right?) so the margins are likely to be thin, as are the margins on online music store business (except for record labels). This seems yet another venture without profits in the foreseeable future for xbox division.
Besides, I fail to see what's creative about xbox or xbox360 :confused:

This new service sounds pretty poor tbh. I probably wouldn't use it even if it was free.
Main reason being the places I wish I had a certain album with me tend to get hardly any phone signal anyways, let alone a 3g connection fast enough to stream music. Also the charges for going over your data limit are hilariously high. Stream a movie or two, a couple of albums and a tv show and my data is done for the month?
Also I think cloud storage is great as part of a back-up solution for my professional work, though I feel it is kind of lackluster for consumer use. Sure the tech-savvy elite may have some use for it. Sure its nice to know some of your precious documents, photos are somewhere safe if the worst happens.

I am an FA myself, and have turned my head in admiration towards women that would make most men say "Daaaaaaaaaamn!", but I wouldn't pay to see this. I'm not into feederism; there's usually a control/codependency issue at play, and I prefer more equity in my relationships.

Thunderbolt is absolutely amazing and I think most people here aren't looking far enough ahead. A single connection that can handle massive bandwidth, is scalable in the future, can handle display as well as just data throughput, and can do this over long distances is good for more than just hard drives. Imagine a wall of displays with one cable. Imagine a stack of external processors. Imagine owning your own private data center!
Thunderbolt is faster than the hard drive today, but when one component gets faster it lets the others get faster too. Without a data bottleneck in the cable, there is now an incentive for drive makers to develop faster storage. If you can move this kind of data around, why not build cheap little add on processors? You could buy a laptop and then buy a couple external processors that would bump you up to 12 core tower speed while remaining cheap and portable.
Who cares if you have a bunch of USB stuff today. Think forward!

I hope you understand what exactly you are saying. Under 10% is still Millions of systems. Included in that small percentage are hundreds if not thousands of businesses, thousands of schools, and many home businesses. Like anything in life, there are people that like the easy stuff, the work that effects the most people, or the work that provides the most challenge.
Worldwide impact is likely motivation for some hackers, however it doesn't include all of them!
I would strongly advise against dropping your Limewire habits and moving towards more legitimate sources for your content.
I am 100% in agreement with this statement! Besides P2P shares like this are a hotbed for corrupt files, trojans (windows world(for now)), and it is being cracked down more and more every day.

Of course, and I meant that in the 'general sense'. I have long since abandoned the use of Classic on any of my OS X Macs or any of the Macs I support. AppleTalk is so deprecated that I can hardly believe that anyone will be able to use it much longer. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if it was completely absent from 10.5.
