I havent received my EAD/AP, only received receipts..i applied on Aug 15th.

Why should USCIS send two notices? To answer your question..NO..they will send you one date and location for FP! Also you have to do your FP every 15 months or so..if your case isnt approved by then!

I happened to read the following on a different thread on IV
"for cases that has to be filed by overnight courier that is by the USPS Express Mail the center will only pick up mails from the U.S Postal Service once a day and in the morning. Therefore any mail that is not picked up in the morning will be picked only the following day and is given a next day receipt date."
Does it mean that any packages that were sent out yesterday(Thursday) will be delivered today(Friday), but USCIS will only pick it up on Monday morning and then assign Monday as the receipt date? Anyone with some knowledge on this, please clarify.

After interacting with a lot of people who have benefiitted a lot from IV but have taken IV for granted, I personally feel that these people must know certain things LOUD and CLEAR
Nothing comes for free, and remember such a concept of Grassroots organization has never sprung up.

I need to clarify if you are working for employer A for say BS+7 yrs and want to apply GC through Employer A then the 7 yrs exp is not counted against experience ( very rare cases it can be considered if the new position is completely different)
IF you are processing your GC for future employment with say Employer B then the 7 yrs is counted.
Did that clarify your doubt

there is another LUD on my 485 today, continuosly from the last 4 working days Dec6th,7th,10th and today(11th)..not sure what's going on...:confused:
It could be anything. Did you get your biometrics taken recently? People normaly would get updates after that. The first meaningful update would be something like "On xxxxx we have ordered your (green) card production". If you got that, you know you got your green card. But your PD is late than current processing date, they wouldn't adjudicate your case, even your name check is cleared. Is your name check cleared?

Rally shoud emphasize that its not for increase in any H1B visa but to provide relief for people who are going through AOS to cut down the amount of time whole adjustment process takes.

I got EAD with "finger print not available" on card. Strangely ,Online status doesn't has any information it still displays that NSA received my EAD application and they are processing.It seems they are sending EADs but they are too busy to update their system.

I got a RFE for medical which I replied immediately and the current status shows
"we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done"
My PD is not current by the time I got RFE and don't expect it to be current in near future too.
Now, my questions :
1. Does USCIS send a snail mail with in 60 days regarding the status of my application?
2. Is it fair to assume that my case is preadjudicated If I don't get any further RFE's with in 60 days ?

I’m confused about using the EAD. Someone please clarify me….
I already received the EAD for me and my wife. Currently, I’m in the H1b which is expiring on Sep 2008 (6 years are over). My questions are?
•Can I be in H1b and still work another job as a part-time?
------ if the part time job is using a part time H1 only then you will be H1 and dependents in H4 using EAD meaning you lose H1/4
•If my wife wants to work using her EAD does it have any effect on her h4 status?
--- her status becomes AOS pending and H4 is gone
•If my wife loose her job during the use of her EAD what will be her status?
--- she will reamain AOS pending same as while using EAD
•I applied my I485 in July 2, 2007. As I already received my EAD, can I be unemployed after 180 days and start a business by myself?

I was among the randomly selected people for DV 2009. Currently I am in US with F-1 visa. I learned that I am eligible for Adjustment of Status. Do you think it is reasonable to process my files in US or should I go back to my country?
What kind of documents should I fill in? Also I need to pay the filing fees (for I-485 $930 for example). Are there any other costs? I also read that there is a medical examination report, how much could it cost to me?
So after reviewing everything what will be the best decision for me? I asked an attorney but he didn't have enough of experience to help me, and I can not afford one more attorney.
I will be thankful if somebody could enlighten me on these.

In our 485 application, the lawyer put my divorce certificate from my previous marriage in my file but not in my wife's file. According to the 485 instruction, my divorce certificate should be included in my wife's file as initial evidence because she is the derivative applicant.
Will USCIS deny my wife's 485?

I am currently unemployed and my spouse needs to travel to Mumbai urgently. Our AP is valid through November 30, 2009. Will there be any issues for my wife when she comes back - possibly because of my current status. Wife is employed (with a different company)& the EAD/AP was filed by my last employer. Responses will be appreciated. Thanks!
She will not have any issues in entering as long as her 485 is pending. Make sure, she gets back before the AP expires.
