The white model looks far worse than the black model. Apple should have used the 3G design anyway, it was way better than the iPhone 4's design...

But there are many many reasons they would have a problem with that. The most predominant reason would probably be... Dare I say it... Religion.
Religion doesn't even have to be a factor. Perhaps parents see the ideal of only having sex with one person in your entire life, of keeping sex as a complete giving of yourself reserved for the one man or woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. Perhaps parents see that hormones are not the best thing to follow and that relieving physical desires might have more emotional or psychological effects than a teenager would realize. Parents have the advantage of not being influenced by the hormones that teenagers have and can think rationally about the situation. Just because you're 18 doesn't mean that you know what's best for yourself and perhaps your parents can impart on you their experience.
I mean, if a person is an adult at 18, at the age of 18, you have absolutely no experience at being an adult. Being 18 doesn't mean you have 18 years of experience under your belt. Being 18 means you are learning to be able to make your own decisions now and should ask the advice of those who are older than you and had the chance to live more.
Haven't you guys seen those movies where at the end the old ladies' man says how he never was happy and wish he'd settled down with a woman he loved? :p :D

:eek: Japanese Mac users get first OS X-friendly Blu-ray burner from Logitech mid-August (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/08/02/logitec_mac_blu-ray_disc_burner/). Only $1148 folks. :eek: I guess somebody's gotta start somewhere. At least we know they are really almost for sale somewhere on planet Earth. :rolleyes: ;) Comes with Blu-ray version of Toast 7 Titanium.

I just don't get the economics of this Blu-ray thing at all. :eek: :confused:

Hey, I was wondering if there's a free or cheap program that can make pictures black and white, but have certain things colored. I have graphic converter. But I don't know how to use it to do something like that. If you can do it with graphic converter, please tell me how. Thanks!

It's not the Red Cross. It's the FDA. Last time the policy went up for review in 2006 or so, it was voted 7 against 6 to stay in place.
And for anyone wondering, the wording is something along the lines of "if you are a man who has had sexual contact with another man, even once, since 1977, or if you are a woman who has had sexual contact with a man who has had sexual contact with another man, even once, since 1997, you are prohibited from donating blood."
I think a basic level of intelligence indicates how wrong and prejudiced this is.

According to statistics, black men are more than 6 times more likely than white men to become infected with HIV, but you sure as hell dont see people supporting banning black people from donating blood. Why? Simply because it is more socially acceptable to be homophobic than it is to be racist.
Edit: I just wanted to make this clear: there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for blood donations, regardless of who may or may not be present. Donating blood saves lives. There is a problematic policy in place in the US and other countries at the moment, but that never has and never will make asking for people to donate blood problematic in any way, shape, or form.

Just make sure your cable provider allows you to record from it. Make sure the signals are not encrypted.
I purchased EyeTV500 and after I figure out the only way to record HDTV was from over the air antenna. I returned it to Elgato after I found out I would have to spend good amount of money buying a really good outdoor antenna plus make holes in the wall and etc. to be able to connect it to my EyeTV and computer.Nonsense. I record facing South from North tower off air signals with the Terk TV5 amplified low-profile antenna and it works like a dream. Don't need no stinkin' cable nor satellite. All the rabbit ears were useless. This portable indoor antenna, availble from Circuit City for $50, is in a class of its own. Just point it out the window and turn to tweak reception. :)

My cable bill makes me want to puke.. I'd hold my entertainment spending up against any on this forum..
I'm refusing to buy the latest CRAP-laden disks, possible-broadcast flag-filled broadcasts, and downloads they're trying to shove down our throats in the future... I'm saying if they want to keep my future business at anywhere near my current rates, they better make the future DRM/Crap/etc more like what we have now, or they will loose sales..
How can that NOT be on their RADAR?

this app is made by macrumors member cougar so we're giving him a little exposure. Anyone else in the forums that develops freeware, submit it and (assuming the app works and is worthwhile) I'll probably post it. :)
