oi antonio, tudo bem? brasil vs. croatia hoje... muito facil para os brasileiros :)
a couple of comments. i agree with el hacko and jliechty that the front strawberry should be the one in focus. the ones that are in focus are not special and you can't see the entire berry so there is no compelling reason to focus on them. at least the one in the front is whole and big.
you might also want to 'soften' the light and eliminate the hot spots (overexposed) that are on the fruit. there should be more pretty color where you see white. you can use bounce flash or a diffuser to accomplish this and still get the bright look.
adding more attractive texture to the strawberries might be accomplished with some water droplets, especially on the leaves which look kind of dry.
food photography is one of the hardest disciplines but you're doing a great job.

I thought that the ideal time would be before applying for I485, and thus the dependant spouse would automatically get a gc with which ever spouse got the gc first. So I would think that both applying and getting married before either I485 is submitted, and who ever gets gc first their dependant spouse gets it too.
If the I485 is already filed I don't know if it can be amended.
I'm no attorney so you need to throughly research this.
This is true if you are applyinf through employer based. But our guy is applying through family based and he marrying before getting his GC could push him to the next category and a wait of several years.

Hi,
I am on H1B visa staying in Missouri state and my employer location is the same county. I recently got a project outside Missouri and client worksite is in Arizona. I am expected to travel Monday to Thursday from Missouri to client worksite but not required to move to Arizona. In this case where I am travelling does my employer need to file for LCA amendment? I have come across posts that if you move to a new worksite you might need LCA amendment but not sure in this case where I am travelling every week.
Your quick response would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Seshu

My wife was on H4. Her VISA and I94 are expired. I'm still on H1 (valid). Our 485 applications are pending. We have valid EAD cards but not using them. Can I apply for my wife's SSN using the EAD Card + I485 Receipt? Or does she need to have valid I-94 along with the EAD to apply for SSN? Does she need SSN to work on EAD?
You should be able to apply for SSN with EAD. Please read the SSN filing instructions and come back if you have any specific questions.

It seems as if the Big B has not given up on this issue just yet. He is making it a point to mention it atleast once each week, despite what other international developments are going on. I think he will be putting the full court press on the house republicans, it will be interesting to see whether he gets them to accept some compromise.
---------
Republican Congress("C") is in no mood to play ball with Bush.
In fact it is a three way fight, with Senate not passing the "Minimum wage/ Estate tax bill," Congress is in no mood to bargain with Senate either.
Let us think about our strategy for a Democrat controlled Congress in February 2007.

I called an IO today at Texas.
Last week they told me that due to glitch they never printed my fp notice.
The IO I talked to then, said that she was going to generate one and mailed to me.
I talked to another lady today and she said that notice was mailed last Thursday! She told me my appointment is on July 26 at 9:00 am but I dont have the NOA yet.... I dont know what to do I dont want to miss my appointment
The lady said she will sent another one today..... I hope I get it, please let me know if you guys have any advice
If I'am not mistaken I feel even the Lawyer gets the fp notice check with your lawyer.

Hi,
I 've applied for my H1 extension in August 2009 (Just two weeks before my previous I-94 was expiring), after a month I have been facilitated with RFE for client letter. As usually my client denied providing me a letter and told me to contact primary vendor for any of this kind. Finally got a letter from primary vendor with roles and responsibilities of mine with very extended duration. RFE was answered with the primary vendor letter, and after couple weeks extension was denied.
Now my previous H1 got expired two months back, initially my employer told me that he will open MTR but attorney suggested that chances of MTR success is less and asked to file new application for extension. Another application (premium) was filed within 2 weeks of first application denial and after couple weeks my extension was approved.
1. will the period between initial H1 expirey date and approval of 2nd application for extension considered as "out of status" ?
2. Had to visit india and need to go for stamping, how is mexico in my case?
3. I heard that due to not having an entry in PIM, applications are kept pending for 4 to 6 days in india with 221g. How about mexico, will it be same?
Thanks in Advance.

Hi Guys,
I just learnt about the news in Business week on starting discussions for increasing Visa Numbers to help alleviate our pain.
Skilled Workers May See Green-Card Surge (Link:
http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/content/jul2007/db20070718_068854.htm)
With this in mind I was wondering whether we can compile list of victims of Immigration system based on state and send it to each senator asking for help in moving Skill bill and other pro-immigration reforms cleared.
We can also indicate some on the main issues we are facing as a summary to each senator to make the people understand what kind of roller coaster our lives are
Information that can be captured to indicate the wait time and different ways we are affected.
Name, State, PD, approx Expected approval date (with approx 750000 thousand applications in July) and what effect this would cause on our lives
A) Family torn apart (kids growing older than 21, etc)
B) Cannot live the American dream by excelling in work to higher position and benefits for average 5 - 10 years - cannot change jobs or responsibilities
C) Kids (mostly citizens of US) deprived of basic luxuries because parents cannot buy houses and cannot send them to private schools because of uncertainty in visa status. Most of them manage in rental homes and feel guilty for not able to provide the best for those innocent kids (US citizens)
D) With this long waits, Could not purse higher education because of 6 years limit on H1 and no option to change employer after 6th year because of pending application.
E) Most immigrants are eagerly waiting to start their businesses but are restricted because of visa status and the dream remains dream for most of them because of timing in market and personal life.
F) Some of them are abused by employers who take advantage of the loop holes in the immigration system and long waiting times.
G) Lose of revenue, most of the spouses are well educated and are not able to work because of H1 quota limits or no EAD and it takes on an average 3 -5 years before you get your EAD.
More can be added based on others experiences.
It would be great to get some information about Taxes paid (percentage) by immigrants,
Number of businesses opened etc to make the case stronger.

Hi,
My wife is going to apply for both H4 and H1 visa. Since marriage is in March end, she will come to US on H4 visa. Her H1 visa will be applied as if she were in India. Now her I94 will say H4. Once she gets her H1B, she will have to go out of country to get new I94.
We can go to Mexico to get it stamped and hence get new I94. If for some reason, H1B is rejected, can she still enter the US on H4 visa?
Thanx,

I saw that too, but my problem is that i already had an appt for 3rd week of dec but I had an issue with my passport. Had to send papers for getting my name changed to my married name on the passport as the latest I797 i received was on my married name (noticed this only recently). Now I cannot change the name, passport etc on an existing appointment so will have to cancel the one I have. And currently only emergency appts are available for 3rd and 4th week of dec. Hence the dilemma!!!!!

Do you need a valid H-1B status if your H-1B stamp has expired. I don't have any H-1B stamp on my passport and my H-1B status (I-797) will expire on February 14th, 2008. I will then switch to EAD. I am traveling on Feb 23rds, 2008 (Chicago->JFK->Dubai-Pakistan).
So, do i still need a valid H-1B status even though, i will be traveling back on AP?
No you don't need. Whatever Rtarar said - thats what you need

Can anyone tell when will EB3 India crossover to May 2001 from April 2001 without any new law.
let me try to guess this..mmm..tough question though, assuming they take 1 month to move one day..earliest would be in another 30 months..just kidding.. though i wont be surprised, even if it happens that way..no one know what is their freakin calculation to move these dates.

In September 2001, I came here on visitor visa with my mother and resided here till today (I was 15). I went through 4 yrs of high school, got my GED followed by an associate degree from community college and now I'm an undergrad student pursuing my bachelor degree; will graduate in a year. Meanwhile, my mother became a U.S. citizen through marriage when I was a sophomore in college, simultaneously my I-130 was approved and now waiting for the visa availability; the priority date: Dec 08, 2006, F1.
Problem is that I turned 21 on October 13, 2006 right passed the time criterion for the Child Status Protection Act which technically makes me "aged-out" by about 2 months (filing date being DEC06), so I think that I am not be qualified as an immediate relative.
Currently, the visa availability date is at 15FEB06 which is getting close to DEC06.
Few months ago, I received a letter from NVC requesting DS-3032 and I-864 forms which I've filled out and sent to them but I regarded the fact that I live in the United States on an overstayed visa!!! I should have sent them a notice to adjust my status instead of paying the $70 and $400 fees that I already paid, apparently. I am not leaving the country to interview overseas with the NVC because that would put me in a 10 year ban obviously, I also do not understand how I can adjust my status with the USCIS once the priority date becomes current when I do not have a status as of now! So, I might've done all these for nothing. I've talked to some lawyers on the phone but they have completely shut my hopes down (maybe because I haven't paid them?). I do not have the money to pay for an expensive lawyer because all my funds can barely afford my college.
On top of everything, DREAM act just got rejected from the congress as I'm getting ready to graduate from college. I have no idea what to do.
With my college degree and knowledge that I have acquired over the years, I believe that I am an inevitable asset to this country but I am deeply saddened by the fact that American Dream is not becoming a reality for me. I know I can do more for the world but I'm immobilized by the system which I don't see any loopholes to at this point. I understand the views of the Republicans but I really wish that they can give one more look at the DREAM act. We do not intentionally break the law. I would actually be a law-abiding and a model citizen if I ever become one.
Anyhow, I lost all my hopes and dream in this country at this point in time, that I think the only/best way is to move back to where I am from immediately upon graduation.
If there is any hope, your help/advice/inputs will be greatly appreciated!
